Contact details can be added, edited or deleted here.
Each contact can have associated Notes, Customizable details,
Events and Tasks.
Contacts can belong to zero or many Groups.
There is a Schedule of tasks with a popup daily 'to do' and completed list.
Various Reports are available and the database is fully searchable.
The system offers numerous ways to correspond in a personalized way with selected Contacts.
Many other Tools complete the software by providing functions such as data Import,
database backup and restore, a correspondence template Editor, popup help text and
automatic contact address resolution.

Contacts can belong to zero or many groups.
For example, a contact might belong to the groups Employee, Friend and Sales Team.
Organizing contacts into groups allows for personalized correspondence with every
Contact in the group using just a few mouse clicks.

Each contact can have notes assigned to them. A note consists of text and, optionally, an image.
Zero or many notes may be assigned to each contact.
Images can be included in a note using drag/drop or copy/paste operations from a
local disk folder or directly from a web page. Double clicking in the image box
will also invoke a file browse dialog.

A map showing the address of a contact can be displayed by clicking the right mouse button on a contact.
There is also a button to show the same map live in your web browser, along with all the usual navigation controls.

The purpose of the custom screen is to allow you to choose your own headings and
captions for additional data that your business requires to be assigned to each contact.
There can be zero or many custom screens assigned to each contact.
This flexibility is designed to ensure that ContactM8 is a good match for your business requirements.
Database Customization is launch from the Settings screen.

This second custom screen further enhances the usefulness of the software by allowing you
to fully customize a further 23 database fields.
There can be zero or one custom details screen associated with each custom screen.
This ensures that ContactM8 is a great match for your business now and allows for growth
in the future, without having to invest in new software and training.

The events screen keeps a record of all correspondence with a Contact.
Events are recorded automatically when contact is made via Email, SMS or labels are printed for post mail.
New entries can be added manually to record other significant events related to a contact.

The tasks screen displays tasks related to a single contact or all tasks.
Some tasks are created automatically during correspondence with Contacts, such as follow up actions.
Tasks can also be entered manually for a contact.
Tasks appear in the Schedule, either as 'to do' or 'completed'.

The schedule screen is a calendar showing all tasks, either completed or to be done.
Calendar entries are maintained via the Tasks screen.
Red and blue flags indicate that a given day conatains tasks pending or completed, respectively.
Hovering over a particular day in the calendar invokes a popup view of the tasks for that day.

Various options are available for generating reports from the database.
The reports offered are continuously being enhanced, based on customer feedback.

The search feature can be used to find any piece of textual data in the database
and make available for selection, the contact(s) to which the data is related.

The contact screen is where all correspondence is generated with one or more selected contacts.
Correspondence may consist of Email, SMS or Post mail and is recorded as an event against each contact.
Follow up Tasks may optionally be generated.

The tools screen offers a variety of useful functions such as database backup and restore
and switching on or off the customizable context help system.
This is also the launchpad for other operations, for example, system Settings
including customizations,
data Import, contacting customer support
and contact address resolution.

System configuration is entered through the settings screen.
The settings screen is also the launching point for database customizations,
setting template folders, assigning SMS and email accounts and other settings.
The sets of allowable event types, custom types and task types are all maintained in settings.
Software license renewal is instigated via the settings screen.

ContactM8 includes a built in Rich Text Editor for developing template files that are
used in 'mail merge' operations when generating Emails, SMS and printed documents.
The editor's menus allow for easy insertion of placeholder tags when creating or editing template files.

Contact data can be imported from other systems that are capable of exporting to a
CSV (Comma Separated Value) file format.
The import function is flexible in that it allows any field from a CSV
file to be mapped to any database contact field.
Contact data can be imported directly from contacts in some versions of MS Outlook.

During contact address resolution, a list of similar addresses may appear
if the contact address is ambiguous.
Address resolution uses the State default and Country default as a starting point.
These are assigned in Settings.

ContactM8 customer support can be emailed directly through this screen.
Our aim is to help you quickly resolve any issues that may occur with the software.
We also welcome any suggestions for improvements to the software.
All ideas will be considered and some may appear in future software versions.

Database customizations are made in this screen.
These customizations will be reflected on the screen that appears
when the custom button is clicked on the main screen.
All pop-up context help text is also fully customizable.

This is the secondary or detail customization screen. Choices made here will be reflected on the
custom detail screen when invoked from the custom screen.
Each custom field can be defined as a text box, numeric box or a check box and
can be enabled or disabled. Fields that are not enabled do not appear on the
corresponding custom detail screen during normal program operation.

Software license renewal is performed through this screen, which is invoked from the
Settings screen.
Purchases made here are via Pay Pal and are in chunks of 52 weeks.
The software should recognize new license credits within 15 minutes of purchase.
This is indicated in the status bar at the bottom of the main screen.
